Meryl Streep and Martin Short have been together for over a year, but have managed to keep their relationship out of the public eye despite their highly scrutinized lives.
While the couple doesn’t comment on their relationship, a source close to them shared a rare glimpse of how they “work so well together.”
The source noted, “It’s like each of them is exactly what the other person needs at this stage of life. Everything feels incredibly easy between them. There’s no friction, no drama, nothing complicated. They really enjoy being together and it just flows naturally.”
They commented that the couple has this “ease” between them that is really rare, in conversation with Page six.

“Everyone should be very lucky to find someone who fits into their life the same way they do. They make each other laugh, they support each other and there is calm in their relationship. It never feels forced,” the source added.
While the relationship came as a surprise to the couple, “Meryl couldn’t help but fall in love with Martin. He is a gentleman, he makes her laugh and is an all-around positive person. She loves being around him,” as a source told the outlet at the time.
The couple was recently spotted at an intimate dinner in London, where they ate together without photographers surrounding them.
