Are you looking for a different day?
A new NYT Strands puzzle appears at midnight every day for your time zone, which means some people are always playing “today’s game” while others play “yesterday’s.” If you are instead looking for Wednesday’s puzzle then click here: NYT Strands Tips and Answers for Wednesday, June 3 (Game #822).

NYT Strands Today (Game #823): The Answers
The answers to today’s Strands game #823 are…
- FUNNY
- EASE
- BALANCE
- APLOMB
- STYLE
- CALM
- SPANGRAM: POETRY IN MOTION
- My rating: Easy
- My score: Perfect
When you detect a word that is not as good a game as POETRY, it is most likely part of a longer spangram and this was proven today with the addition of INMOTION.
I also managed to detect a whole set of non-game words starting with the letter P, and I could have found a few more, I’m sure, but there was only one P-word among our six fancy motion descriptors.
APLOMB is one of my favorite words and one that is often used to describe moments of sporting excellence, usually from Lionel Messi, but in my opinion it has to carry a bit of sass along with the panache.
A better example would be the character of Beth in The Queen’s Gambit as she navigates a male-dominated world and destroys her opponents with casual coolness. That being said, when I first heard it I thought it was strange that people delivered things with a plum.
Answers from yesterday’s NYT Strands (Wednesday, June 3, Game #822)
- YELLOW
- COVERAGE
- WILD
- HEATHER
- DAMASCUS
- MEADOW
