Prince Harry ‘hurt’ an important and notable member of the royal family with his explosive decision.
In 2020, the Duke and Duchess of Sussex decided to step back from their active royal roles. They wanted to live a life on their own terms.
The late Queen rejected Harry’s request for half-in, half-out at the time.
The Sussexes’ move didn’t sit well with many, but one figure was extremely angry and that was the Queen’s husband, Prince Philip.
Ahead of her birthday, royal commentator Richard Fitzwilliams spoke about her strong character and how the Duke and Duchess caused her pain in the final years of her life.
talking to The daily mailHe said, “Queen Elizabeth and her ‘strength and permanence,’ Prince Philip, were one of the most notable couples in royal history.”
The royal expert added: “Prince Philip strongly disapproved of the way Harry and Meghan stepped down from their royal duties, blindsided the Queen and plunging the monarchy into crisis.”
Prince Philip was also not in favor of Harry marrying Meghan.
He responded to Harry’s news with a stern warning. “You date actresses, but you don’t marry them.”
