- Nest Mini and Nest Audio smart speakers are not available on the Google Store
- Third-party retailers still include them, but options are limited
- It could be Google’s way of preparing for the arrival of the new Google Home Speaker
The long-awaited Google Home Speaker is getting closer to its full launch, and another major clue is that the company’s older models are becoming harder to buy.
Suddenly, Google’s Nest Mini and Nest Audio speakers disappeared from online retailers, first seen on Google’s US store. The listing for both models not only says “sold out,” but it also says both devices are “unavailable.”
As for the Google store in Canada, it is the same case; However, customers in the UK and Australia can sign up to receive an email notification if it is ever back in stock.
Outside of the Google store, it’s even harder to find them in stock. At the moment, availability is tight, but there are still ways to get one. In the US, Amazon is your best chance to get the Nest Mini, while Best Buy is including the Nest Audio in its clearance sale for $74.99.
If you’re based in the UK, Amazon is the only retailer to stock the Nest Mini for £69.99, but stores such as Argos, Currys and Very no longer stock any of the models. There are also limited options if you’re in Australia, but there are still some on Amazon.
Will Nest Mini and Audio return?

It’s not entirely surprising that Google has paused sales of its smart speakers as it prepares to launch its next-generation device, but it’s unknown whether the Nest Mini or Nest Audio will be back on sale after the launch of the Google Home Speaker.
Given that Google has spent quite a bit of time rolling out Gemini tools to the Nest Mini and Nest Audio, it wouldn’t make sense to completely stop production and sales of these models, and given that Google is notifying UK customers when they’ll be available again, it gives us more reason to believe they’ll return sooner or later.
The Nest Mini and Nest Audio speakers have been Google’s flagship smart hubs for the better part of seven years, and now it looks like the company is preparing to adopt the new Google Home Speaker as its successor, but it’s been quite a process.
The new Google Home Speaker first appeared during last year’s Made by Google event and was officially announced in October 2025 with a launch scheduled for spring 2026 (or sometime between March and May for those in the southern hemisphere).
While spring passed and no such speaker was released, Best Buy Canada listed the device saying it would arrive on June 25. Google hasn’t confirmed this yet, but its new smart hub is on the horizon, and it would be great news if this were true.
