Joe Coffey was one of the professional wrestling stars who joined Major League Wrestling (MLW) over the past year to bolster its star-studded roster.
Coffey, a former WWE NXT wrestler, joined the company with fellow Gallus members Mark Coffey and Wolfgang. The group have been renamed Glasgow Boys on Top (GBOT) and are looking to add some gold around their waists. Coffey was with WWE until May 2025, when the trio departed.

“I feel like I just want more character development,” Coffey told Pak Gazette Digital when asked why MLW was the right place for him. “I want to be able to tell a story. The last two years I felt like that had fallen by the wayside and was in vain. I have a lot to offer. Also Mark (Coffey). Also Wolfie (Wolfgang).
“I really want to sink my teeth into it and tell great stories. I’ve had some great ideas and Court (Bauer) has been very collaborative and stuff like that. I can’t thank them enough for giving us a chance. I think it’s a perfect fit right now.”
Coffey added that he hoped to have a title around his waist sooner rather than later and wanted it for all of GBOT, not just himself.

“I hope to have a title under my belt,” he said. “I think that coming, especially now, the GBOT, it has to be pure violence, to be honest. We have had restrictions, orders, before, but now, when we are in the ring, we just have to be dominant. As Conor McGregor said a few years ago, we are not here to participate. We are here to take control.
“I’m not here to make up numbers. I’m here to show who I am. Frankly, I feel like I’ve been wasted the last two years, so it’s time to step up again and say, ‘No, by the way, I’m Joe Coffey. Just to let you know.’ I used to wrestle against Hall of Famers, sold-out stadiums, and before that I was a main event player. So, na, na, I have my pedigree. I’m not going to sleep on the laurels. But I’m here.”

“MLW Fusion” debuted on Veeps earlier this month, putting the promo on a global streaming platform for free and opening it up to a new audience.
Coffey called it a “huge” move for MLW and said new fans can expect a new emphasis on storylines that no other company has.

“Watching ‘Fusion’ (last) Saturday, I feel like ‘MLW Fusion’ has what the pro wrestling world is missing,” Coffey said. “It has something for everyone. There are great stories happening at the same time. Again, I feel like that’s missing in modern pro wrestling. So watching it, I thought, this is such a good show.”

“I can’t wait for it to come true and let people see what we’ve been doing… The feedback has been nothing but positive. I’m really positive and looking forward to the future with MLW.”
