- China launched 33,615 drones simultaneously and rewrote record books.
- A floating aerial screen stretched over more than 148,000 square meters.
- Thousands of drones combined to create a huge animated canvas.
China has added another milestone to the rapidly expanding drone industry after a large-scale aerial performance set three Guinness World Records during a public event in Sichuan province.
The achievement attracted attention not only because of the number of drones involved, but also because of the enormous visual display.
The record-breaking event was organized by Yufengzhe Technology, which launched 33,615 drones simultaneously over an airport in Dujiangyan, a city located in Sichuan, China.

Three records achieved in a single performance
Guinness World Records officials attended the event and verified multiple achievements resulting from the coordinated flight operation.
The performance set a new record for the most drones flown simultaneously under group control during a single show.
It also achieved the record for the largest number of drones forming an aerial pattern at the same time.
A third record came from the creation of what Guinness World Records recognized as the largest airborne LED mesh display ever assembled.
According to event organizers, the floating display covered approximately 148,561 square meters, creating a massive illuminated structure suspended above the airport.
Instead of functioning as individual visual elements, the drones worked together to form a giant aerial canvas capable of displaying complex images and animations.
The achievement demonstrated the scale that coordinated drone technology can now achieve when thousands of aircraft operate under centralized control.
Drone shows have become common in recent years as alternatives to traditional fireworks shows.
In an unprecedented event, more than 10,000 drones fly as one to create a massive display celebrating the history and development of Vietnam.
Similarly, to celebrate Easter, 10,000 drones flocked to Texas to tell the story of Jesus, breaking four world records.
Cultural themes filled the huge air show.
The visual content shown during the performance largely focused on Chinese cultural and regional themes related to Sichuan and its surrounding areas.
Giant pandas appeared among the aerial images, reflecting one of the most recognized symbols of the region.
Organizers also incorporated depictions of the 28 traditional Chinese constellations along with images associated with Bashu culture and local history.
Additional scenes linked Dujiangyan’s long historical heritage with emerging low-altitude aviation technologies currently receiving increasing attention across China.
The event demonstrated how fleets of drones can be used for artistic and entertainment purposes on a scale previously only associated with large ground-based exhibitions.
Even a beginner drone used for recreational flying operates on many of the same fundamental principles, although complexity increases when thousands of aircraft must move simultaneously with precise timing.
The performance also reflects broader investment in drone technologies across multiple sectors, including logistics, mapping and public events.
Unprecedented displays like this attract public attention, but also serve as demonstrations of large-scale coordination capabilities that may have applications beyond entertainment.
