Light rain makes weather pleasant in Karachi

Light rain was reported in different parts of Karachi, with drizzle affecting several areas of the metropolis on Sunday night.

Gulshan-e-Iqbal, Gulistan-e-Jauhar, University Road and Sohrab Goth experienced intermittent rain showers under the prevailing weather conditions.

Showers were also reported in Abul Hasan Isphani Road, Rashid Minhas Road and adjoining areas, extending the light rain activity to other parts of the metropolis.

Earlier, the daily forecast of the Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD) indicated that a seasonal low had been recorded in northern Balochistan and adjoining areas.

A westerly wave was affecting the upper parts of the country, while moist currents from the Arabian Sea also penetrated the central and southern regions.

It said mainly hot and dry weather was expected across most of the country, while partly cloudy conditions were likely in the upper mountainous areas.

Dust storms and thunderstorms were expected over central Punjab, Potohar region and southern Balochistan, including Awaran, Panjgur, Khuzdar and Kech, during the forecast period.

The forecast added that hot, dry conditions were expected to persist in most areas; However, rain, wind and thunderstorm were expected at isolated places in upper Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Kashmir and adjoining mountainous regions.
