The next version of The Bloodline’s story was leaked at the tail end of “Friday Night SmackDown” in Providence, Rhode Island, when Jacob Fatu appeared in the locker room while Jey Uso was preparing for his King of the Ring Tournament match with his brother, Jimmy.
There seemed to be several moving parts. Fatu said he was on SmackDown to talk to Solo Sikoa, who split from Roman Reigns and formed MFT. Meanwhile, Jey Uso also received a pep talk from Cody Rhodes.
“When I do it, I’ll come after the WWE Championship at SummerSlam,” Uso told Rhodes before the match. “Just business, Uce. Just business.”

Rhodes said he expected Uso to come after the WWE Undisputed Championship. He added that he hoped it was his decision and not because Roman Reigns told him so.
Palace intrigues were at their highest point.
Fatu found Sikoa in the locker room. He said he had a message from Reigns and that the “Original Tribal Chief” wanted Sikoa to “come home.” Sikoa, a former prominent member of Bloodline, laughed.
“Home? Do you want me to come home? Is that what your ‘Tribal Chief’ said? That’s not home, Jacob,” Sikoa said. “That’s a doghouse, and you’re his lapdog. You know what? I don’t understand this. What the hell happened to you? You used to be a murderer. A man everyone feared. The ‘Samoan werewolf’. A man who came so close to beating Roman. And now? You’re just his experience. And you know I’m right because I’m still here and you’ve done nothing but come here and deliver a message from who? Your ‘Tribal Chief?’
“Listen to me, Roman has done nothing but embarrass you, humiliate you, and make you kneel like a dog in front of everyone and in front of our family, Jacob. And that’s not how you treat someone you love. But he wants me back? I’m not going back there. So, tell Roman, he can go to hell.”
Fatu said he understood where Sikoa was coming from, but he already made his decision and if Reigns wants him to come get him, then he would come for Sikoa.
Sikoa said that if Reigns wanted him back home, “then he can come get me.”
The Bloodline’s tentacles didn’t end there. As Jey Uso prepared for the match, Sikoa was in Royce Keys’ ear. Uso, Keys, LA Knight and Finn Balor faced each other in the King of the Ring Tournament. Sikoa said he didn’t want Keys to be a “casualty” in Reigns’ war.
Knight took a victory lap, proving he was right about The Bloodline and their small representatives getting involved in the King of the Ring match. What I didn’t know was how involved they would get. As Knight and Keys left the ring, Jimmy Uso and Sikoa appeared.
Balor was in control late in the match, nailing his finisher on Jimmy Uso. Keys was distracted by Sikoa and Knight took control. It looked like Knight was going to get the win.
Keys was hit with a big boot, causing referee Charles Robinson to check on him. Sikoa hit Knight with a Samoan Spike when his back was turned. Keys hit a spinbuster on Knight while Jey Uso climbed to the top rope for a frog splash. Uso pinned Knight to steal the win.
It seemed like Sikoa was trying to help Keys, but instead gave the victory to The Bloodline. Uso will face Je’Von Evans in the semifinals. Oba Femi and Dominik Mysterio will meet in the other semifinal.
The confrontation of Sami Zayn and Cody Rhodes

Sami Zayn wanted the crowd in Providence to know that he was, in fact, the “last really good guy” in wrestling. He was a little taken aback by the reaction in the city and noted how his “ride or die” fans showed up in “full force” for him in Europe.
Zayn called out to Rhodes, and “American Nightmare” obliged. Zayn was hoping to clear things up with Rhodes after weeks of unfortunate accidents. He repeated the series of incidents, including last week’s suicide dive from Rhodes that was intended for Gunther. Zayn asked Rhodes the “truth,” as fans chanted, “Sami sucks.”
Rhodes recalled the moment when Zayn was in the ring celebrating his championship win at WrestleMania 40. Zayn asked Rhodes about the names he listed – CM Punk, Kevin Owens, John Cena, Randy Orton – how many of those guys were still his friends and if Rhodes was the problem? Rhodes said he didn’t need to be “honest” with them the same way he needed to be honest with Zayn. Zayn then pleaded for Rhodes’ honesty.
“Do you want me to be honest with you? Do you want me to be honest? I’m here for this. I’m putting up with all this fire, listening to this nonsense,” Rhodes said. I’m honest with you here: they (the fans) are booing you. They’re singing: ‘Sami sucks!’ And the reason is because you suck lately. You’re whining. You are crying.
“You’re not the Sami Zayn they fell in love with. You’re not the Sami Zayn they traveled with. You’re not my Sami Zayn. You’re something else. If anything, you’re desperate. Let’s not pretend this is about anything, anything between you and me that isn’t the WWE Championship. And I owe you an apology, I’m sorry. I’m sorry I have this and that means you never will.”
Zayn slapped Rhodes after the harsh words. Zayn began to apologize as anger began to rise in Rhodes.
Rhodes then slapped Zayn in the face.
“We’re ok?” Rhodes yelled at Zayn, who left the ring and grabbed a chair. Zayn threw him to the ground and walked away.

Gunther sets his stipulation for WWE Undisputed Championship rematch
Gunther got what he wanted to get a rematch against Rhodes for the WWE Undisputed Championship. He told SmackDown general manager Nick Aldis that he will choose the referee for the match, after a mistake cost him the title at Clash in Italy.
Gunther later explained to Aldis that he needed to choose someone with adequate knowledge of the rules of professional wrestling, but that he also needed to take the “human factor” into account.
He chose Zayn as his special guest referee, much to Aldis’ chagrin.
So next week it will be Rhodes who will defend his title against Gunther and Zayn will call the shots.
Rhea Ripley Injury Update

Rhea Ripley appeared on last week’s “SmackDown” with a brace around her knee and didn’t look like she was ready to compete in any matches. Jade Cargill and Michin ended up defeating Charlotte Flair and Tiffany Stratton.
SmackDown announcer Wade Barrett shed some light on Ripley’s recovery.
“The knee injury happened in Italy last week,” Barrett said. “Now, we’re evaluating the knee injury as we speak, and depending on how that knee responds to treatment, it should give us a better idea about the ETA for Rhea ‘Bloody’ Ripley’s return. Obviously, we all have our fingers crossed for a quick return for the champion.”
Cargill said he hoped Ripley was resting because he was going to get his “lick back.”
The Queen of the Ring Tournament advances

The final semifinalist of the Reina del Ring Tournament was revealed on Friday night as Cargill, Charlotte Flair, Sol Ruca and Lyra Valkyria battled for a spot in the next round.
Cargill hoped that winning the Queen of the Ring for the second year in a row would have returned her to the top of the women’s division. However, it was the experienced veteran Flair who took advantage of the younger field.
Valkyria tried to pin Flair but since she was in shock, Flair took advantage. Ruca hit Valkyria with a kick as she went to put Nightwing on Flair. She then gave Ruca a big boot and locked Valkyria in the figure eight leg lock. Valkyria tapped and Flair raised her hand.
Flair will face Liv Morgan in the semifinals. Iyo Sky will face Raquel Rodríguez in the other semifinal matchup. The winners will face each other at the Night of Champions.
