Prince William has been accused of hypocrisy for attacking his cousins despite his public kiss with Princess Beatrice amid family turmoil.
Princess Beatrice and Princess Eugenie, once two of the most beloved members of the younger generation of royals, have grabbed headlines for all the wrong reasons over the past week.
Andrew and Ferguson’s daughters are being dubbed “a rot at the heart” of the monarchy after the former prince and his ex-wife’s scandals came to light.
The sisters are apparently forced to flee their royal residences. Prince William is being accused of being the driving force behind her possible downfall, despite his public display of affection at a royal event.
The latest damning reports come after it was revealed how the sisters have been living rent-free for more than 20 years in their royal residences – but their alleged ‘scrounging’ now appears to have opened up a new debate over the pampered princesses’ place within the royal fold – if there really is one.
Now, while her mother, Sarah Ferguson, is still hiding from the furor surrounding her ex-husband Andrew Mountbatten-Windsor in the mountains of Austria, we’re told that hasn’t stopped the former Duchess of York from becoming “furious” over calls for her daughters to almost flee their royal residences, and she’s laying the blame on one royal in particular: Prince William.
A source claims: “Sarah is furious at the way this has all unfolded and blames William for poisoning the King against his daughters. She says there has been a very deliberate effort to turn the tide against Eugenie and Beatrice and believes William has been the driving force.”
The source continued: “As far as she is concerned, they have become convenient scapegoats in William’s obsession with thinning the monarchy.”
However, last weekend the royals appeared to have put aside most of their supposed acrimony to celebrate the wedding of Princess Anne’s son Peter Phillips to NHS nurse Harriet Sperling in the picturesque Cotswolds.
Beatrice, 37, and Eugenie, 35, who attended the idyllic ceremony with William, which took place in a quintessential town church.
Accompanied by their husbands, the sisters were seen being greeted by William, and the Prince appeared to lean down and kiss Beatrice on the cheek.
The nuptials mark the first time the sisters have rejoined the royal fold so publicly since Christmas and following Andrew’s arrest on suspicion of misconduct in public office in February.
‘The wedding was a nice gesture, but in their eyes it does not cancel out this cruel effort that is being made to marginalize them. Sarah thinks it’s deeply unfair that William seems to have focused on them.
The York sisters reportedly believe their fate is in William’s hands and they don’t want to get into William’s bad books anymore. They know it doesn’t look good but they haven’t lost hope.
Even ignoring his parents, particularly Ferguson, who there is speculation could make things worse by attacking the future monarch with firearms.
