Chris ‘The Bear’ Fallica’s best bets for today’s World Cup – Matchday 8

NEWNow you can listen to Pak Gazette articles!

“Bear bets” are real bets that Chris “The Bear” Fallica is actually making.

The superstars were super on Tuesday.

Kylian Mbappé scored twice, Erling Haaland did the same and Lionel Messi surpassed both with his first hat trick in a World Cup.

Welcome to the World Cup.

Going forward, this is what I hope for matchday 8.

Best bets for the World Cup: Thursday, June 18

Czechia against South Africa

South Africa were very poor in the first game against Mexico, while Czechia had an advantage over South Korea and then, curiously, replaced their best scorer, Patrick Schick, and their most creative player, Pavel Sulc. Of course, this resulted in South Korea scoring two goals and a 2-1 loss. Here the loser is eliminated and I hope Czechia wins. At least he offered something in the first game. I bet Sulc is involved in some goal.

Switzerland against Bosnia and Herzegovina

Look for Dan Ndoye to put pressure on Bosnia on this one (Getty Images).

The Swiss did everything but finish, literally and figuratively, against Qatar. If they continue to make a lot of high-quality shots like they did in the first match, they will eventually have good luck. Bosnia was pretty mediocre in the first game and managed a point against Canada, but looked very vulnerable when Canada brought in Cyle Larin. Breel Embolo, Dan Ndoye and Switzerland will ask a lot of questions.

Fallica’s elections: Bosnia and Herzegovina Swiss Switzerland wins to zero (+120), Switzerland more than 14.5 shots (-110)

Canada vs. Qatar

Can Cyle Larin provide enough momentum for Canada to claim its first World Cup victory (Getty Images)?

I would expect Jesse Marsch to include Cyle Larin in the starting lineup, as Canada was a completely different team once he arrived. Qatar were very lucky to get a point against Switzerland, and if they don’t improve here, they will take a beating.

Fallica’s elections: Taste Canada Canada wins to zero (-125), Canada more than 16.5 shots (-125)

Mexico vs. South Korea

Both teams won their first games and, with one point, they will surely be classified with one more. I’m a little apathetic as to what to expect. Was Mexico’s performance amplified because South Africa is bad? I could see this 1-0 either way or even 0-0. I won’t go crazy here.

Fallica’s choice: Mexico South Korea Both teams score – No (-135)
