Colin Farrell reveals if he believes in ‘aliens’

Colin Farrell has revealed that he strongly believes in extraterrestrial life and believes aliens may already be walking among us.

The Irish actor who plays an alien in his Apple TV+ series Sugarwas asked about his personal beliefs on the topic at the Season 2 premiere at the Hammer Museum in Los Angeles on Wednesday night.

He didn’t hesitate.

“Do I believe in the existence of sentient beings from distant lands, or distant ethers, celestial things that we may not be able to comprehend with our limited minds? Yes, of course,” he said. Variety.

“I have a feeling that they probably know about our existence and they probably visited us and they can move around us, man, they can move around us in all kinds of… I wouldn’t like to think in a dire way, but maybe I’m an idealist and if I am, that’s okay.”

Farrell also took the opportunity to defend something closer to home: the experience of filming Sugar on locations in Los Angeles, which he described as genuinely weird and special.

“It was magical to film here and it’s very rare for a show or movie to be filmed in Los Angeles because it’s not cheap and the tax breaks suck,” he said.

“It’s amazing to be able to do it here. Everyone was able to stay home with their families and just go to work and do great. There’s fantastic equipment here. You won’t find better technicians and craftsmen.”

Executive producer Simon Kinberg echoed this sentiment.

“I haven’t shot much of anything in my entire career in Los Angeles and I’m always desperate to be here,” he said.

“Every artist I know who lives in Los Angeles, including myself, wants to film here. We write things that take place here and once in a while on a show like this, we can film here, but it’s very rare.”

The comments come at a time when Los Angeles continues to struggle to attract productions, with many shows and movies choosing to film elsewhere due to costs and limited tax incentives, making Sugar’s commitment to the city even more notable.
