- Verizon has launched a loyalty program called Verizon Shine
- This is open to all customers.
- Includes weekly contests and giveaways, plus lets you accumulate ‘Verizon Dollars’
If you’re a Verizon customer, you can now get more for your money, as the network just launched a loyalty program called Verizon Shine, a play on ‘rise and shine.’
Verizon Shine is now available to all customers, but you must enroll manually from the My Verizon app. Once you do, you’ll find a weekly delivery of rewards every Monday, including several freebies and discounts from partner brands, like free coffee from Starbucks.
You’ll also be able to enter competitions, with prizes including a three-day trip to see the World Cup final and breakfast with David Beckham. That competition begins June 22, and others include a New York City food tour with chef Andrew Zimmern, trips to watch NFL games abroad and a dance lesson with the Rockettes.
A new type of dollar
Plus, once you’re enrolled in Verizon Shine, you won’t have to pay any activation or upgrade fees, and you’ll start earning ‘Verizon Dollars,’ which you’ll earn each month worth 3% of your bill (excluding taxes and fees).
These Verizon dollars can go toward purchasing new phones and accessories, or toward purchases from partner brands like Hilton, Marriott, Starbucks, Sephora, and Roblox. Although you can’t use them to get a discount on your Verizon bill.
So, there’s a lot here and seemingly no reason not to sign up for Verizon Shine if you’re already a customer. Whether it will prove compelling enough to keep Verizon customers from switching or attract many new customers remains to be seen, but it’s a nice bonus for anyone who sticks with the network anyway.
