MLB commissioner blames communication breakdown amid backlash against Bible verse limit
‘America’s Newsroom’ looks at MLB’s response to players wearing Bible verses on their baseball caps. Commissioner Rob Manfred sent a letter to Sen. Josh Hawley, R-Mo., explaining that the initial warning was a “routine oral warning” due to a miscommunication with the Giants organization and that the players faced no sanctions. FOX Business’ Brian Brenberg and Pak Gazette contributor Tom Shillue praise the players for their bravery in standing up for their beliefs.

At least Jazz Chisholm Jr. didn’t have chewing tobacco in his mouth.
However, the New York Yankees second baseman was caught sucking on a popsicle while playing defense in Detroit on Tuesday.
Unlike maybe sunflower seeds or bubblegum, it was a pretty surprising sight, as the Yankees were trailing 4-1 in the bottom of the fifth inning against the Tigers in the middle of a mini-skate.

Chisholm is normally pretty nonchalant, and coach Aaron Boone is pretty stoic and sometimes defends his players to a fault. But the lollipop is where the line was drawn.
“That bothers me,” Boone told “Talkin’ Yanks.” “I didn’t know until after the game. He and I talked about it. That’s not going to happen. I’m not in it.”

Chisholm is certainly not one to hide from, well, anything. He received boos in Kansas City after saying the Royals “got lucky” against the Yankees in Game 2 of the 2024 American League Division Series.
Before this season, he boldly claimed he would produce 50 home runs and 50 stolen bases (he’s 11 and 23 about halfway through the season), and earlier this month, he predicted the Yankees would win their 28th World Series title.
Chisholm is currently on pace for his worst season in the majors, as his .226 average, .406 slugging percentage, and .716 OPS are the worst marks of his career.

He is set to hit free agency after this season, and before the season, he made it known that he wanted a contract in the range of $350 million.
