Wondering where your online order ended up will soon be a thing of the past thanks to a new release from Samsara that makes tracking your deliveries easier than ever.
At its Samsara Beyond event, the company revealed Samsara Tracking Label: a smart, single-use Bluetooth sticker that can provide near real-time visibility of where a shipment is actually located.
From shipment to delivery, the label can connect to the company’s Samsara network along its route, allowing for accurate tracking at all times – especially useful for areas such as pharmaceuticals, where companies need to know exactly where a delivery is at all times.

The tracking label is a paper-thin, flexible, adhesive-backed label that can have a battery life of 45 days after activation. The battery contains no lithium or hazardous materials, meaning it can be approved for air, ground and rail shipments, and is suitable for disposal without special handling.
Samsara says the launch goes beyond typical trackers, which can be lost or damaged in transit, resulting in a lack of information or insight into where a delivery is actually located, as its network covers 99% of major US highways and tens of thousands of workplaces.
“This is no longer science fiction, this is reality,” David Gal, vice president of connected equipment at Samsara, told attendees at Samsara Beyond.
The company says cargo theft costs American businesses approximately $35 billion a year, a figure that will only increase in the coming years as online shopping continues to grow.
Note how current solutions such as RFID and cellular connectivity may face cost and coverage issues, but Bluetooth can go further and provide much more information.
The labeling process can easily be expanded depending on customer demand, and while specific pricing information is not yet available, the move could help businesses of all sizes save time, money and stress tracking their deliveries.
The tracking label can be managed within Samsara’s new Shipping Center and Shipping App, which connect seamlessly to an organization’s existing infrastructure, regardless of which carrier they use.
This platform allows customers to not only view the delivery schedule in real time and prevent theft, but also detect problems or delays before they occur, track deliveries across borders and provide easier dispute resolution, helping to keep your customers happy.
