Japan and Sweden will meet in their final group stage match of the 2026 FIFA World Cup on Thursday, June 25, 2026 at 7:00 pm ET from Dallas Stadium.
Japan drew 2-2 with the Netherlands in their first match and beat Tunisia 4-0 in their second match, with Daichi Kamada and Ayase Ueda scoring twice each in the two matches. Sweden beat Tunisia 5-1 in their first match and lost to the Netherlands 1-5 in their second match, with Yasin Ayari scoring two goals so far in the tournament.

There is a lot at stake for Japan and Sweden when the two teams meet on Thursday at Dallas Stadium in Group F. Japan comes into the match with four points, while Sweden has three points. The winner of this match is assured of a place in the round of 16, and possibly even the group title, depending on how the Netherlands (also on four points) fare against Tunisia.
Japan comes into this match as deserved favorites and can win the group if they defeat Sweden and the Dutch stumble. Even if both teams win, Japan can win Group F if their margin of victory is greater than the Netherlands’ margin.
