It didn’t take long for the United States men’s team to get back on the scoreboard.
Auston Trusty scored his first international goal just three minutes into Thursday night’s game against Turkey, converting a corner kick to put the Americans ahead 1-0 at Los Angeles Stadium.
The goal was the second-fastest the United States has scored from kickoff in World Cup history.

It also brought the United States one step closer to a perfect group stage campaign. The Americans entered Thursday looking for a third straight victory after defeating Paraguay 4-1 and shutting out Australia 2-0 in their first two games.
Christian Pulisic started the final group stage match on the bench, but was available as a substitute. The USMNT star has been dealing with a left calf injury since suffering a knock on June 10.

But American leadership was short-lived. Arda Güler found the back of the net in the 10th minute before Orkun Kökçü scored in the 31st to put Turkey ahead 2-1 in the first half.
