Ambassador Asim Iftikhar Ahmad said UN Security Council resolutions were legal obligations under the UN Charter.
Pakistan and China jointly convened a UNSC meeting under the Arria Formula to examine how the world body can ensure full, effective and non-selective implementation of its resolutions, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs said in a statement on Thursday.
An Arria Formula meeting is an informal format of the UN Security Council that allows members to hold candid discussions with UN officials, experts and stakeholders on issues affecting international peace and security.
Addressing the meeting, Pakistani Ambassador Asim Iftikhar Ahmad said UN Security Council resolutions were legal obligations under the UN Charter and not mere expressions of intent.
