- Hisense launches a dedicated remote control that connects to the child-safe Vidaa Kids
- Children cannot access adult apps with the Safe Streaming Remote
- Included in the entire range of Hisense 2026 televisions
If you’re a parent, you probably don’t want your kids to watch things on TV that aren’t age-appropriate or safe to broadcast. But stopping that can be painful. Hisense may have a better option: the first “Safe Streaming” remote control.
Hisense has partnered with A Parent Media Co Inc, which owns the Kidoodle TV service, to offer kids’ shows on its Vidaa TV operating system along with the aforementioned remote control. It will be available on the entire 2026 TV range.
Instead of trying to remove dodgy things from your smart TV’s apps and channels, Hisense’s solution removes them entirely. Kids can watch thousands of episodes on Vidaa Kids and the remote is there to help them find their favorites, like spongebob, Paw Patrol: Puppy Tales, baby shark and many more. There are more than 50,000 episodes in total.
A walled garden that is safer for children
Like many parents, I was against screens… until I became a father. Sometimes parking a small child in front of Paw Patrol It is exactly what you need to be able to prepare a meal, wash clothes or simply rest for a few minutes.
But my kids didn’t have access to the live and streaming channels that today’s smart TVs have; There is no way I would leave young children in front of the TV unsupervised or without plenty of parental controls activated.
What Hisense offers here is an easier life for parents of young children: instead of having to lock specific apps on your TV or PIN-protect profiles across multiple apps, you can simply give the kids the Safe Streaming remote and let them get on with it.
Because it’s all in one app, you don’t need to spend time setting up the apps that adults use, and there’s no chance of kids getting frustrated with multiple streaming services.
The new remote will be included across Hisense’s entire MiniLED and MiniLED RGB 2026 range, including the E8S, U7S, U7S PRO, UR8S and UR9S series, which launch this month, but only on devices running Vidaa OS, meaning in the UK and Europe, but not the US.
