NYT Strands Today (Game #847): The Answers
The answers to today’s Strands game number 847 are…
- PARADE
- RAINBOW
- DRAG
- MEETING
- FLAGS
- CELEBRATION
- SPANGRAM: PRIDE MONTH
- My rating: Easy
- My score: Perfect
I was initially taken aback by March in June, as I was thinking about the month of March, then I realized that the march in question must be a parade, and of course June has become synonymous with Pride, so PRIDEMONTH and PARADE appeared as if by magic.
Next I got RAINBOW, a bit tricky as it involved reading backwards, before slowly going around the board.
Pride marches began in 1970 to commemorate the anniversary of the Stonewall Uprising in New York, but it was another 20 years before Bill Clinton declared June “gay and lesbian month.” 36 years later, it feels more important than ever.
Answers from yesterday’s NYT Strands (Saturday, June 27, game #846)
- PENTHOUSE
- STUDY
- LOFT
- DEPARTMENT
- CONDOMINIUM
- EFFICIENCY
- SPANGRAM: APARTMENTS
