NYT Strands Today (Game #848): The Answers
The answers to today’s Strands game #848 are…
- CLEFT
- REST
- NOTE
- MEDIUM
- EXTENT
- ACCIDENTAL
- SPANGRAM: MUSICAL PERSONNEL
- My rating: Hard
- My score: 1 track
At first the topic was confusing: were we looking for composers like Mozart? – and even detecting the MUSICSTAFF spangram made no difference.
Music staff? Is that a fancy way to describe an orchestra?
However, after one clue, I realized that we were looking for words associated with the composer’s craft of writing music.
That said, ACCIDENTAL was new to me, as I didn’t know it was a musical term and it took me a long time to understand it: it is a symbol placed immediately before a note that alters its pitch, temporarily raising or lowering it.
Answers from yesterday’s NYT Strands (Sunday, June 28, Game #847)
- PARADE
- RAINBOW
- DRAG
- MEETING
- FLAGS
- CELEBRATION
- SPANGRAM: PRIDE MONTH
