Keke Palmer snatches microphone from Druski while announcing BET Awards

Keke Palmer steals Druski’s spotlight at the 2026 BET Awards

Leave it to Keke Palmer to always keep things real.

The pop icon made her feelings known during the 2026 BET Awards, hosted by comedian and actor Druski at the Peacock Theater in Los Angeles on Sunday, June 28. While working with the audience, Druski approached Palmer in the audience, but she did not agree.

“You’re doing too much,” Palmer, 32, told Druski, 31, who appeared caught off guard as he tried to defend himself.

But the actress interrupted him and snatched Druski’s microphone while he was shooting. “This should have been my concert. Why the hell would they hire you to host? And this is the problem, this is the problem with BET. They’re freaking out. Because this should have been me.”

When Druski tried to take the microphone back, Palmer told him he “got it” and went on to introduce the next performer: Grammy Award-winning rapper Cardi B.

The audience erupted in cheers and continued to enthuse Palmer, who effortlessly took on the role.

The entire interaction was, of course, a parody of the annual Black Entertainment Television (BET) Awards, which recognize outstanding achievements in music, film, sports and culture.

Cardi B, who led the night with six nominations, took home the award for Best Female Hip Hop Artist. Kehlani won Best Female R&B/Pop Artist, while Teyana Taylor and Lauryn Hill received the Icon of the Year Award and the Living Legend Icon Award respectively.

Druski, who became the youngest BET host in history, received The Pulse Award.
