Druski Targets Stevie Wonder at BET Awards Opening, Sparks Online Frenzy

‘We have Stevie Wonder in the building. “Put his net worth up there,” Druksi noted.

Druski Desbordes, known for his witty banter, generated buzz at the 2026 Black Entertainment Awards on Sunday night, June 28, 2026.

The 2026 BET Awards took place at the Peacock Theater in Los Angeles on Sunday, June 28, 2026.

Druski in his opening monologue was nothing short of celebrity roasts, viral sketch shout-outs, and a particular jab at Stevie Wonder that has everyone talking.

The American comedian opened the dazzling night of the show by reprising his beloved preacher character from Collect & Praise.

That personality of Druski, a fictional pastor, generated online buzz for soliciting donations from his parishioners.

But this Druski took aim at some of the wealthy stars who attended BET 2026.

He criticized them before making his mock plea for collection, saying: “We have so many stars in the building whose net worths are blessed and who God has ordained to bless me.”

Druski first targeted director Tyler Perry.

“Let’s put Tyler Perry’s net worth up there. Oh my God! Glory! $1.4 billion! We’re taking the net worth out tonight,” Druski said.

“Hey, man! I don’t care if it comes from you, Madea, or that crazy black woman. Someone better donate, amen?”

The hits went to the next level when Druski turned to music icon Stevie Wonder.

“Who else in the building? Who else? We’ve got Stevie Wonder in the building. Put his net worth up there.”

As Wonder’s estimated $20 million net worth appeared on the screen, the computer-generated graphic also included a Braille sign next to his snap, setting up the gag.

“200 million dollars!” Druski said before a second.

“Hey, hey! Shut up. He can’t see it. Shut up.”

The moment he dropped the gag, the audience burst out laughing as he continued with the gag.

“That check is right there in Braille. That’s Braille! That check is signed, sealed and delivered. Very good. Amen.”
