Since July 4th, Backrooms: everything must disappear will be screened in theaters around the world, where it will feature 16 minutes of new footage. According to Deadline, the remake will have “more story and more Easter eggs for fans.”

It’s a great time to be a horror fan right now. Backrooms has caused quite a stir on social media, marking the first time Creepypasta has been adapted to the big screen.
In an interview with our senior entertainment reporter Tom Power, Backrooms Director Kane Parsons talked about the rise of YouTubers making Markiplier horror movies. iron lung at Curry Barker’s Obsessionwhich is now available on demand.
Parsons said, “A common trait shared by many of these YouTube filmmakers is having an established contract with their audience and treating the fans as if they are a little smarter and more aware than the average entertainment fan. So I can’t explain why the studios are finally taking notice of us, but I’m glad they are.”
With Backrooms Returning to theaters for an extended version, I’m certainly glad that horror is being taken seriously across the board. I can’t wait to see what Backrooms: everything must disappear has reserved for us.
