“Another vehicle struck the rear passenger side of the car Frankie was driving, causing it to spin and roll over…” the social media post said, adding that he was later taken to the hospital. “His injuries are still being assessed and he remains in hospital for further observation.
“Frankie would like to thank the emergency services who responded to the scene, along with the doctors, nurses and wider medical team who cared for him. His focus is now on resting and recovering. No further comment will be made until there is a significant update.”
The Sun said Dettori’s vehicle ended up overturned, although no arrests were made.

The fireworks reportedly caused a massive stampede of horses through the streets of Rome, injuring several soldiers.
The Italian jockey, famous for having seven winners in seven races at Ascot in September 1996, has amassed more than 3,350 career victories, mainly in England.
Dettori retired as a jockey after doing some racing in Brazil following a period competing in the United States, British news agency PA reported. Before that, he lived in England for more than three decades.
