Happy Independence Day everyone! Nothing says independence more than the freedom to take our hard-earned money and put it into a sport that most only watch every four years. We do it with the Olympic Games and we do it with the World Cup. We’ve had quite a few swings and misses, but we’ve also cashed in a couple of solid plus-money plays. Let’s try to do it again.
Canada vs Morocco
This marks the beginning of the round of 16. There are no longer too many unequal matches in terms of probabilities; We’ll talk about that in a moment. Instead, from now on we should have the best teams and solid matches. Canada vs Morocco is no exception. Canada is here after defeating Saudi Arabia. I haven’t seen much from our neighbors to the north that has impressed me too much. They’ve scored at least one goal in every game and have had two shutouts, so there are some things to hang your hat on.

For Morocco, the task of achieving victory against the Netherlands was much more difficult. They won on penalty kicks and it was a wild shootout. In fact, they have not lost a game yet and only have one draw. This should be a close game and a tie at +245 is where the value lies in my opinion. I’m not going to tell you it’s a sure bet, but I think these two teams are a little more evenly matched and neither seems to be super aggressive offensively. Give me the draw.

Paraguay vs. France
If you watched the Argentina game yesterday, you’ll know that the lines don’t always tell you the full story of how things will go. The Argentines were big favorites and Cape Verde gave them everything they could. Argentina won 3-2, but needed overtime to get there. Paraguay has the opportunity to do it today against France. France is -1600 to advance, meaning that even if penalties are taken, France is still the heavy favorite. Paraguay beat Germany in penalty kicks to get here. It was his best game of the tournament.

France seemed unstoppable. They are still the favorites to win the World Cup. If you’ve seen them, and even if you’re not a football enthusiast, you’ll be able to understand why. Kylian Mbappé has been dynamic and continues to accumulate goals. He is a real threat for Messi and the Golden Boot. He is -205 to score a goal today. I prefer his teammate, Ousmane Dembélé. I think so much attention is paid to Mbappé that Dembélé, who already has four goals in this tournament, receives less attention and is seen more easily. I’m going to play him to score +105.
