In a bid to facilitate the diaspora, the federal government is considering further simplifying doorstep passport delivery services to overseas Pakistanis.

In line with the directives of Home Minister Mohsin Naqvi, Director General Immigration and Passports Muhammad Ali Randhawa chaired a meeting with representatives of Nadra and DHL to improve passport home delivery services for overseas Pakistanis.

Measures to make passport home delivery service for overseas Pakistanis faster, easier and more reliable were discussed in the meeting. The group agreed to finalize the procedure for home delivery of the passport.

The meeting decided to strengthen ties between institutions to provide maximum comfort to the Pakistani diaspora.

The decision came days after the Directorate General of Immigration and Passports launched a home passport delivery service, allowing applicants to receive their documents without having to visit collection centers.

The initiative was introduced following the instructions of the Minister of Home Affairs as part of efforts to improve public convenience and expedite the delivery of passports.

According to an official statement, the new service would allow applicants to receive their passports at their registered addresses instead of collecting them from passport offices.

Earlier, Naqvi had announced that cashless transactions will be operational in all passport offices of Pakistan.

Taking his X, the Home Secretary had said: “Applicants no longer need to stand in long queues or wait hours to make payments.”

He maintained that this reform was initiated on the instructions of Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif, adding that his team had carried it out successfully.

“This is another step towards making public services faster, more transparent and more convenient for our citizens. There are still many milestones ahead and, may Allah bless him, we will continue to achieve them,” he added.
