United Kingdom (UK) reform leader Nigel Farage resigned as a Member of Parliament (MP) during his “future in public life” statement on Tuesday, July 7, 2026.
The 62-year-old politician has announced plans to take part in the “people against the establishment” by-election in Clacton-on-Sea, adding that this will give voters in his constituency the opportunity to point two fingers at the establishment.
This comes after the now-former MP faced intense scrutiny over a series of donation scandals. Farage insisted he has done nothing wrong, adding: “I will fight to continue the political revolution that Reform has started.”
He described the allegations against him as blatant lies and accused the establishment of using dirty means to defeat Reform UK. Farage maintained that he had not broken any laws in any way or misused public money.
The politician expressed deep anger at the fact that the media “harassed his family.” He said: “I will not tolerate bullying from my family.”
Reports suggest the series of donation scandals involve funds from George Cottrell, a long-convicted criminal, for security and staff a year before Farage was elected to public office.
The Reform UK leader was already under investigation over a $6.69 million gift received from crypto billionaire Christopher Harborne.
