Prince Archie and Princess Lilibet have reunited with their grandfather, King Charles, for the first time in four years.
Buckingham Palace confirmed that the “private family occasion” took place on Friday, July 10 at Highgrove House in Gloucestershire, where the king and Queen Camilla welcomed Prince Harry, Meghan Markle and their two children.
The long-awaited meeting was held behind closed doors, and palace officials made it clear that no photographs or additional details would be shared.
The reunion marks Archie, 7, and Lilibet, 5, seeing King Charles, 77, in person for the first time since 2022, when they traveled to the United Kingdom for Queen Elizabeth II’s Platinum Jubilee celebrations, but did not attend any public events.
Harry, 41, had returned to Britain earlier this week for a series of charity engagements, including the year-long countdown event to the Invictus Games in Birmingham.
Meghan, 44, and the children were initially expected to accompany him, but uncertainty around safety measures cast doubt on those plans.
Friday’s private meeting finally made that reunion possible, allowing the Sussex children to spend time with their grandfather away from the public eye.
