- Skullcandy website shows off “the best headphones ever made”
- New over-ears with bass that feature a collaboration
- The stopwatch is counting down to the launch on July 15
While Skullcandy has had a fairly quiet 2026, everything seems to change in a few days. On the Utah brand website, it began showing a new audio product.
But what? Well, I became that Charlie Day It’s-Always-Sunny corkboard meme, and I think I’ve figured it out. No, Skullcandy hasn’t secretly warned me; I’ve written about this enough to know a few things.
Let’s review the evidence. A timer at the top of the page counts down to “Mission Launch”; this will end at 7:45 pm ET on July 15 (i.e. 4:45 pm PT, or a quarter to 1 am on July 16 in the UK). So we know when the new release will take place.
A video on the page shows a group of people crowded around a television, as a presenter asks them to “make the best headphones ever created,” emphasizing “giving people something they can feel.” The video looks a bit AI, but maybe that’s just a style now.
Elsewhere on the website, a link pointing to the aforementioned page refers to “A collaboration. A breakthrough. Something that has never existed before.”
Getting Crusher Vibes
From the evidence, we can deduce that these are headphones, as opposed to hearing aids, which rules out a successor to Method 540. This is because the website says so literally. I know, give me my Sherlock hat already.
To me, the reference to giving people “something they can feel” almost guarantees that these are part of the Crusher line, since those headphones have bass sliders to increase the bass to wild levels. The Crusher 540 Active almost made me lose my mind.
It’s also been a while since we’ve seen new Crusher headphones. The Crusher Evo came out in 2020 and the Crusher 2 in 2023, but aside from the aforementioned Active pair in 2025, we haven’t seen a proper launch since. Other pairs of cans from the brand, like the Aviator 900, have received updates more recently. Then it’s time to smash.
All of that means Skullcandy Crusher 3 is coming, right? Uh, the brand may have skipped one, two, or 1077 numbers. As a Redditor noted a couple of months ago, the FCC recently certified a Crusher 1080 (as well as a Crusher 720).

The same Skullcandy teaser mentions ‘Sound powered by Bose’, which could well be the collaboration in question, as some recent Skullcandy devices have been tuned by the noise-cancelling giant.
That might not be the only collaboration, however, because Skullcandy often sees brands designing unique skins for their headphones. For example, camouflage company Realtree has created some original nature-inspired models of Method and Crusher devices, and we could see this continue with the 1080.
In terms of actual features, audio specs, or design of the Crusher 1080, we don’t have much as not much else has been leaked. I’m sorry. At least you won’t have to wait long to find out, since the 15th is getting closer and closer.
