The trophy presentation took an unexpected turn when a player went to lift the cup for a group shot.
The trophy teetered precariously on its base and almost fell at Kate’s feet.
The moment was caught on camera, showing Catherine laughing at the near-miss while the future monarch initially covered his face in disbelief before breaking into a smile.
After the match, the royal couple shared a rare public display of affection, with Catherine greeting her husband with a kiss on the cheek as he walked off the field still in his riding boots and T-shirt.
The couple was later seen walking hand in hand as they left.
