Epson has launched two new laser projectors of short cuts “4K Pro-UHD”, EH-QS100W and EH-QS100B.
Similar to Epson LS12000, our best choice among the best 4K projectors, the new projectors use Epson triple-LCD laser technology, which has separate red, green and blue panels. Epson says that it offers a better brightness of color compared to the DLP projectors of a chip, and both projectors are definitely bright: they are capable of up to 4,500 lumens and can project images of up to 160 inches in size.
The models are identical apart from its colors: the W is white and the B is black.
Epson EH-QS100W and EH-QS100B: key features and prices
The projectors work with the 4K 4K 4K 4K processing system of Epson and have a dynamic contrast ratio of 5,000,000: 1 for deep blacks and better shadow details. The processing also includes the interpolation of paintings and the projectors admit HDR10/10+ and have dynamic tone mapping.
The laser source has a useful life of 20,000 hours and Epson says that it offers “almost instant” heating and cooling times to reduce energy use.
One of the key features here is complete IP control, which allows you to control the projector with related systems such as lighting and sound configurations for a perfect domestic entertainment experience. It is compatible with systems that include Crestron and Control4, and there are RS232 and Ethernet connectors.
Both models are now available in the United Kingdom for £ 4,500 (around $ 5,601 / AU $ 8,958) but the release date of the United States or Australia is not known.
