Beyoncé is officially Jay-Z’s go-to stylist.
Ahead of the rapper’s Yankee Stadium residency for his 30th anniversary, the pop superstar gave her husband a new hairstyle for the second time in recent months. In an intro video played in the concert hall, Beyoncé is seen shaving Jay-Z’s head with a razor in the stands of an empty stadium.
Over the weekend, Jay-Z kicked off three celebratory shows in New York City honoring three decades of his career, with the first nights dedicated to his iconic albums. Reasonable Doubt and The plan. Beyoncé also joined Jay-Z on stage for a performance of I can’t leave the hustle.
The haircut follows another transformation the power couple shared earlier this year. In June, Beyoncé helped Jay-Z style his loc for the first time in eight years as part of a campaign for her hair care brand, Cécred. She revealed that the decision to grow her hair had been inspired by her eldest daughter, Blue Ivy.
“Our daughter was about 5 years old and didn’t feel very confident about her hair at the time,” Beyoncé said. “When he told his dad that, Jay was inspired to grow his hair.”
“We really wanted her to love and embrace every inch of her beautiful curls,” he added. “5-year-old Blue had no idea her father’s hair had a texture like hers.”
