A delegation by Pakistan Tehreek-E-Insaf (PTI) met with Jamiat Ulema-E-Islam-Fazl (JUI-F), Maulana Fazlur Rehman, at his residence on Tuesday, extending an invitation to join the Great Alliance of the opposition against the government.

During the meeting, PTI leaders proposed the participation of Jui-F in the formation of an alliance with the opposition of the Government. To facilitate discussions, a joint committee was also formed, which includes Senator Kamran Murtaza de Jui-F and Asad Qaiser of PTI.
Speaking to the media after the meeting, Ayub expressed concern about the lack of transparency of the government. He said: “The Government promised a meeting without monitoring with the founding president, but failed to fulfill that commitment. In addition, a raid was made in the residence of Hamid Raza. Our efforts here are destined to promote democracy.”
PTI’s secretary general, Salman Akram Raja, revealed that the delegation informed Rehman about the position of the opposition on key issues, including the reconstitution of the Pakistan Electoral Commission (ECP).
“We inform Maulana about government intentions and emphasize the importance of restructuring ECP letters. Letters have been sent regarding these concerns, and Mauna listened carefully to our perspective. There is a significant potential for progress,” he added.
The senator of Jui-F, Murtaza, while heading to the media, shared details of the discussions. “We welcome the leaders of PTI, and Maulana Fazlur Rehman listened to his points carefully. The main approach was in the appointment of the main commissioner and two members of the ECP, along with broader issues, such as putting an end to interference in the elections .
Jui-F leaders, under the guidance of Rehman, deliberate internally before making a final decision regarding their participation in the Great Opposition Alliance.
