  • Op Shaban will continue until the elimination of the last terrorist: sources.
  • Security sources say that the operation involves both air and ground actions.
  • 42 people, including security personnel, were martyred in Balochistan this month.

At least three more Indian-backed terrorists were eliminated during an operation in Balochistan, taking the total number of militants neutralized in the ongoing Operation Shaban since July 5 to 129, security sources said on Thursday.

Sources said the security forces – in a joint operation involving Pakistan Army, Frontier Corps (FC) and police – inflicted heavy losses on the terrorists and successfully attacked their hideouts in remote and rugged terrain.

Sources said the operation involves both air and ground actions against Indian-backed ‘Khawarij’.

They added that Operation Shaban would continue throughout Balochistan until the “last terrorist” had been eliminated.

A day earlier, sources confirmed that security forces shot dead three more terrorists in the province.

A large cache of arms and ammunition was also recovered from the dead militants, including submachine guns, rocket launchers, mobile phones and other equipment, they added.

At least 42 people, including security personnel and civilians, were martyred in three terror attacks in Balochistan earlier this month, ISPR Director General Lieutenant General Ahmed Sharif Chaudhry said last week.

He said Indian-backed terrorists attacked the Mangi check post, but police personnel fought bravely and killed 15 militants in the initial encounter.

Pakistan has witnessed a rise in terrorist activities, particularly in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and Balochistan, since the Afghan Taliban came to power in 2021.
