Tropical Storm Bertha, known as Tropical Depression Two, will develop starting Monday, July 20, 2026.
According to the latest alert from the National Hurricane Center, Tropical Depression Two was primarily concentrated south of Panama City, Florida.
The alert warns that winds could reach 40 mph. Once it forms, the system will be named Tropical Storm Bertha, the second storm of the 2026 Atlantic hurricane season.

According to the Weather Channel forecast, the system is developing with rainfall extending away from its center from parts of Florida to Louisiana.
The latest forecast suggests that the system may not move much until Monday, July 20, but is likely to adopt a westerly or west-northwest track beginning on Tuesday, July 21.
For now, the exact future path of Storm Bertha is unknown, but forecasters predict that it could be very close to the Louisiana coast between Wednesday, July 22 and Thursday, July 23, before potentially heading toward Texas.
Tropical Storm Bertha will first have to contend with wind shear and dry air, the opposing forces of tropical storms.
Even then, it is expected to strengthen into Tropical Storm Bertha on Monday, July 20.
