AI-based PMOS aims to digitize governance and improve implementation of Prime Minister’s directives

Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif on Tuesday launched the Artificial Intelligence (AI)-based Prime Minister’s Office System (PMOS), describing it as a digital platform designed to modernize governance by tracking and monitoring the implementation of directives issued by the prime minister, the Prime Minister’s Office posted on X.
In his speech at the launch ceremony at the Prime Minister’s Office, Shehbaz directed all relevant authorities to ensure immediate and complete implementation of the AI-powered system, saying that traditional paper-based workflows would be replaced by digital processes.
“As of today I do not expect any of you to have a file in your hands. Everything will be discussed through this mechanism,” the prime minister said, according to the PMO. He also praised IT Minister Shaza Fatima Khawaja and Secretary, Ministry of Information Technology for their efforts in developing and operationalizing the platform.
The prime minister urged all government ministries and departments to adopt the system, saying it would improve governance and public service delivery. “This would facilitate the provision of services,” he said.
According to the PMO, during the ceremony the Prime Minister was given a complete briefing about the AI-powered platform and its objectives.

Officials informed the meeting that PMOS is the first government platform in Pakistan to integrate artificial intelligence as a core component of decision-making and implementation monitoring, making it a key initiative in the federal government’s digital transformation, the PMO said.
According to the report, the platform has been developed at the center of government to ensure efficient communication of the Prime Minister’s directives across ministries and departments, while allowing for their timely implementation in accordance with defined quality standards.
The PMO said the system also serves as a secure technology-based decision support platform by integrating analytics and structured information within a protected IT environment.
Officials further said that PMOS would enable continuous policy calibration by helping the government make more effective use of technological, human and financial resources to improve economic outcomes.
According to the statement, the government plans to incorporate governance reforms in the PMO before extending the platform to the entire federal administrative structure.
At the heart of PMOS is a comprehensive digital repository that records every directive issued by the Prime Minister along with its entire implementation process, making the platform both an institutional knowledge base and a permanent record of government decision-making, he added.
