The Princess of Wales has opened up about how a simple creative activity helped her cope with her cancer treatment.
Kate revealed that coloring became a therapeutic escape when she found it difficult to concentrate on reading or other daily tasks.
During a visit to Christie Cancer Hospital last month, Catherine spoke to patients about the physical and mental challenges she experienced while undergoing chemotherapy.
In images recently released and shared on social media, he explained that concentration was one of the biggest struggles he faced during treatment.
“I don’t know about you, but I didn’t have the ability to read or concentrate on anything,” the princess told other patients.
He said the activity appealed to him because it wasn’t about creating a perfect result, but simply enjoying the process.
“It was just a way to play and get lost,” he explained, adding that it didn’t require “a final product or a finished piece.”
Catherine’s experience reflects a challenge many cancer patients face, commonly known as “chemo brain” or “chemo fog.”
The condition can cause difficulties with memory, concentration, and mental clarity during treatment.
Experts, including those at the Mayo Clinic, note that several factors may contribute, including the effects of treatment, stress, pain, and sleep disruption.
