Kalshi dives deeper into politics as he analyzes commodity contracts

Prediction market platform Kalshi launched its “Midterms Hub” in the US with the aim of positioning itself as the leading reference for election odds in the US.

The new center will allow users to observe the results that speculators expect in each US Senate and House of Representatives as the country approaches the November elections, Kalshi said in a press release sent Wednesday.

Kalshi said Midterms Hub will provide a live snapshot of where users are willing to place their bets at any given time. “It is designed as a one-stop shop for forecasting state and federal elections on the state of a race,” Kalshi said.

The results are based on the latest odds for each market and a map of the US, Kalshi said in the release.

The center will also feature polling averages, so potential bettors can see how the prediction market’s odds compare to what statistical voter surveys show, the latest Federal Election Commission fundraising reports for individual candidates, and selected news and analysis from various outlets.

The announcement follows news reports that Kalshi Inc. is seeking regulatory approval from the Commodity Futures Trading Commission to expand its perpetual contracts outside of cryptocurrencies.
