Sacha Baron Cohen’s secret Ali G The film finally has a release date.
Amazon MGM Studios confirmed on Wednesday that Ali G: Who am I? will hit theaters on October 23, marking Cohen’s feature directorial debut.
No plot details have been revealed yet.
Cohen has been quietly working on the film on and off for several years, filming in various cities, and had reportedly wrapped production early, but confirmed the project’s existence with a surprise appearance by the character at the Wimbledon 2026 final earlier this month.
Filmed from the crowd and shared on social media, Ali G weighed in on the tennis on display, declaring that the sport “is like a trashy version of ping-pong.”
Cohen first introduced Ali G in the late 1990s as a boastful, slangy hip-hop journalist, and the character became a huge hit on Give Ali G Showwhich was launched on channel 4 in 2000 before moving to HBO.
The show was made famous by Ali G’s deadpan, off-the-cuff interviews with unsuspecting public figures, including Donald Trump.
The character made his first big screen appearance in Mark Mylod’s 2002 comedy. Ali G Indahouse.
Give Ali G Show It also spawned two of Cohen’s other most famous alter egos, Borat Sagdiyev and Brüno Gehard, who headlined their own films.
Borat premiered in 2006 with Larry Charles’ acclaimed mockumentary, and then returned for the Oscar-winning film. Borat Subsequent Moviefilm in 2020, while bruno It arrived in 2009, also directed by Charles.
