A new trailer for Zach Cregger resident Evil The movie is out and it’s full of Easter eggs referencing the beloved video game series.
The first trailer for the upcoming adaptation already convinced me, but the latest full official trailer convinced me that it could be just as good as Cregger’s other horror films. Arms and Barbarian.
“In a whole new story, resident Evil “Follows Bryan (Austin Abrams), a medical courier who unknowingly finds himself on a non-stop, action-packed race for survival as a fateful and horrific night collapses around him in chaos,” the official synopsis reads.
The trailer features Bryan, who is heading to Raccoon City to deliver medical supplies to General Hospital, when he collides with what looks like a zombie. It seems like a call back to the Resident Evil 2 opening sequence and is just one of the many easter eggs and references that fans have also caught in the trailer.
Look
in classic resident Evil Similarly, Bryan finds a shotgun in a wall but no ammo, and can be seen desperately searching a creepy abandoned house while hiding from a zombie.
When he finally finds some shotgun shells, they are clearly the same ones that appear in Resident Evil 4as strange as it may seem. There’s also a quick shot of a dark room, and a typewriter can be seen on the desk, a small reference to the save points in the games’ safe rooms.
Cregger’s adaptation is confirmed to be set in 1998 during the events of Resident Evil 2but the director has confirmed that Leon S. Kennedy and Claire Redfield will not appear.
resident Evil opens in theaters on September 18.
