The former Judge of the Supreme Court and president of the Commission of Missing Persons, Justice (R) Faqir Muhammad Khokhar, has died.
His family has confirmed the news of his death, stating that his funeral prayers will be offered today, on January 29, after the Prayer Asr.
The funeral will take place in DHA phase 8 (Park view), Lahore.
It is worth noting that last week, the Government had informed the public that justice (R) Faqir Muhammad had been appointed as the new president of the Commission of Missing Persons, replacing Justice (R) Javed Iqbal, who had led the commission Since then 2011.
On January 22, during a hearing on cases of missing persons, the additional attorney general informed the Supreme Court that the Government had appointed Justice (R) Fakir Muhammad as the new head of the Commission, which happened with justice (R) Javed Iqbal.
The media reports indicate that at the time of their appointment, Justice (R) Fakir Muhammad was receiving treatment in a hospital in Lahore.
