The New York Mets have taken another hit on the injury front, this time with star Juan Soto leaving the game.

The Mets hosted the defending world champion Los Angeles Dodgers, fresh from a visit to the White House, on Friday night.

It was an eventful night at the stadium, as actress Emma Stone was there filming a movie and took time to chat with Soto before the game.

However, that may have been the highlight of the night for Soto.

The 27-year-old walked two, but midway through the sixth inning, the Mets pulled Soto from the game.

The calf injury has lingered for a while and has been on the Mets’ radar. In fact, it first came to light on July 16. Soto was even given time off earlier this week to address it.

Before the game, interim coach Andy Green even addressed the issue.

“It’s getting better for him,” Green said, according to MLB.com. “I hope after today we don’t have to talk about it anymore.”

Unfortunately, they will, and on social media, Mets fans were trying to handle the latest injury news.

In 84 games this season, Soto is hitting .283 with 83 hits and 21 home runs. He is in the second year of a 15-year, $765 million contract he signed with the Mets in December 2024.
