Today’s stage has been shortened from 132.5 km to 89 km due to police pressure to combat forest fires across France. The steep, cobbled roads up the Côte de la Butte Montmartre are still included and were a great addition to last year’s race. The route will take them up the 1km climb three times (average gradient 6.5%) before returning home to the Champs-Elysees.
