US lawmakers on Monday acknowledged Pakistan’s role in promoting regional stability and economic resilience in a meeting with Chief of Defense Forces (CDF) and Chief of Army Staff Field Marshal Asim Munir, the army’s media wing said.
According to a statement issued by Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR), Member of the House of Representatives (Montana State) Ryean Keith and Member of the House of Representatives (Washington State) Michael James visited CDF Munir at Headquarters, Rawalpindi.
“The visiting policymakers recognized Pakistan’s role in promoting regional stability and economic resilience. Both sides also explored opportunities to enhance bilateral trade, private sector partnerships and broader economic engagement,” the statement said.

“The ISPR said that during the meeting, discussions focused on matters of mutual interest, regional security, bilateral defense cooperation and avenues to enhance economic collaboration and prosperity,” it said.
IT further added that CDF Munir highlighted Pakistan’s vast economic potential and emphasized that sustainable regional stability was deeply anchored in economic growth, trade expansion and connectivity.
“He highlighted the ongoing structural reforms in Pakistan aimed at fostering a business-friendly environment and attracting foreign investment,” he added.
The US delegation thanked the military leaders for their hospitality and expressed a shared commitment to strengthening economic, trade and institutional ties between the United States and Pakistan.

Pakistan and the United States have had a long-standing relationship spanning security, counterterrorism, trade, investment and regional stability. While bilateral relations have experienced periods of cooperation and tension over the decades, both countries have continued to interact through diplomatic, military and economic channels.
More recently, Islamabad and Washington have sought to strengthen ties following the conflict between the United States, Iran and Israel, during which Pakistan supported diplomatic efforts that contributed to a ceasefire. US President Donald Trump has since publicly acknowledged Pakistan’s role and praised Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif and FDC Munir for their efforts.
