Foreign Minister and Deputy Prime Minister Ishaq Dar said on Monday that the Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MOFA) had introduced a night shift for consular services, extending working hours to facilitate citizens.
According to an official announcement published by FM Dar on X, consular services will now be available from 8 am to 8 pm, Monday to Friday, significantly increasing accessibility and convenience for the public.
The initiative is part of the ministry’s broader efforts to improve efficiency and ensure citizen-centric service delivery. Officials said details of the revised schedules were outlined in a public notice issued by the ministry.

Previously, consular services at MOFA were provided during regular government business hours, and citizens were required to visit the relevant offices within designated daytime hours.
The limited hours often posed challenges for people, particularly overseas Pakistanis and working professionals, who faced difficulties in accessing services during conventional office hours. The introduction of a night shift aims to address these concerns by widening the availability of the service and providing greater flexibility to applicants.
