- Linux’s new leak may have revealed Intel BattleMage GPU
- Linux’s recent patch had three code numbers
- If it is true, this could challenge the GPUs of the 5000 Nvidia series
Intel’s next ARC Battlemage Arc graphics cards have received a lot of media attention through rumors, reports and recently an official revelation Intel himself. But a recent filtration of Linux has revealed several new cards, which could possibly represent a threat to the NVIDIA RTX 5000 series.
According Tomasz GawrońskiA game hardware in X, the most recent Linux patch may have revealed at least three new Battlemage cards, which could be the powerful early variants. The list itself shows three code numbers, with the patch notes that indicate that “will add 3 new ID for BMG.” Gawroński interpreted it as Intel adding three new Battlemage ID in this patch.
Although there has been nothing concrete in the leaked information that establishes that these cards are high -end models, if they are, it could turn the market over their head. Intel graphics cards have had a competitive price since the technological giant entered the market for the first time, with the B580 and B570 models demonstrating as such. If Intel launched middle and high -end rank cards with that same mentality, this could give a critical blow against AMD and especially Nvidia.
Of course, that is whether these code numbers turn out to be something in the long term. All this might have no sense at the end, so it is important to take this leak with a healthy salt pin.
How this could turn the tables into Nvidia
NVIDIA RTX 5000 series graphics cards managed to reduce the expected trend of prices that drastically increase each new generation. The RTX 5090 flake A third of the price of 4090 while almost coinciding with its performance with the use of DLSS.
But even if the Battlemage Arc cards do not match the yield of the 5000 series or AMD RX 9070, a cheaper price would allow Team Blue to finally win traction in the middle range market as it has done in the budget space, then Everything, there are many players looking for cards that best fit their most profitable PC compilations. We already know that most players are still in 1080p, with only part of 1440p as a main monitor resolution.
I, for my part, I hope this is the direction in which Team Blue enters. As I have been saying for a long time, Team Green and Team Red need a fire on under the rear in terms of offering really budgetary graphics cards. And that fire is clearly the threat of real competition.
