According to the reports, the parents of the prisoned cryptographic scammer Sam Bankman are exploring how to ensure a presidential forgiveness of President Donald Trump for his son, according to a Bloomberg report.
According to the reports, Joseph Bankman and Barbara Fried, both professors of the Stanford Law Faculty and part of the FTX internal circle, are being involved with the people connected to Trump’s intimate circle, according to the report.
In recent weeks, SBF parents have tried to commit to the Trump administration to discuss the possible clemency for their 32 -year -old son, whom he received a prison sentence of 25 years after being sentenced by fraud. The details of whether direct communications have occurred with the White House are still unclear, according to Bloomberg.
The appeal of forgiveness relies on Trump’s recent history to use his clemency powers to free people widely backed, such as Silk Road’s founder Ross Ulbricht. However, unlike Ulbricht, Bankman-Fried lacks generalized public support, although he argues that his sentence is excessively hard, especially because most FTX clients have recovered their financial losses.
The Bankman-Fried FTX, previously the third largest cryptographic exchange in the world, was bankrupt in November 2022 after a Coindesk first said that the platform’s sister concern, Alameda Research, was unstable.
It was later discovered that Alameda used the rear door code to attack billions in FTX client funds, an agreement led by Bankman-Fried and other founding members of Alameda.
Since then, the Titan, once Cristpto, has been sentenced to 25 years in prison and was ordered to lose $ 11 billion after being convicted of seven charges of fraud, conspiracy and money laundering.
