The Constitutional Bank of the Supreme Court would take a petition presented by the founder of Pakistan Tehreek-E-Insaf (PTI) Imran Khan against the amendments to the Law of Official Secrets (OSA) and the Army Law on February 7, according to the Apex court. on Friday.

A constitutional bank of six members, led by Judge Aminuddin Khan, will listen to the petition, presented by Imran under clause 3 of article 184 of the Constitution in September 2023 through his lawyer, lawyer Shoaib Shaheen.

The petition made the president, the Federation and the parties of the National Assembly. He asked the Supreme Court to declare the law of amendment to the official secrets and the Army amendment Law as null and null and suspend these acts until the final decision of the petition.

In his letter, Imran criticized the Judiciary for not providing justice despite the repeated requests against electoral fraud and violations of ongoing human rights in the last 18 months. He said that 10,000 PTI supporters were arrested between November 24 and 27 last year in frivolous cases.

He said that PTI workers were subjected to forced disappearances, extrajudicial injuries and murders, particularly around November 26, 2024. The letter claimed that even hospital records were sealed to manipulate facts.

The founder of PTI attached a list of 42 party workers with the letter, to whom, according to him, they were injured or killed during the repression in Islamabad on November 26 destined to disperse the protesters of the red zone of the capital. In addition, he also listed 75 people who, according to him, had disappeared.

In the letter, the founder of PTI also said that they kept him in “solitary confinement” from October 3 to 25, 2024, and subject to “degrading treatment.” He also said that his meetings with his family and legal team were prohibited under the pretext of security.

The letter also criticized the alleged censorship of content that favors PTI in social media and the main media and described it as a violation of the fundamental rights enshrined in article 19 of the Constitution.

The founder of PTI also mentioned in his letter the alleged rig in the general elections of last year and said that the 26th constitutional amendment was presented to “undermine the Judiciary.” He asked the President of the Supreme Court to “exercise his powers to end what he called” brutality for the State. “
