Ambassador Mumtaz Zahra Baloch officially presented his letter of credentials to the general director of the Unesco Audrey Azoulay on Friday, marking his appointment as permanent delegate of Pakistan to the organization.
After the ceremony, Baloch and Azoulay held a productive meeting, discussing areas of collaboration between Pakistan and UNESCO, particularly in education, culture and science.
Baloch praised UNESCO’s programs and policies, offering full support to advance in the global mission of the organization in its role as vice president of the Executive Board.
Both parties agreed to improve cooperation in education, science and cultural heritage, recognizing Pakistan’s growing potential to contribute to UNESCO’s objectives.
Azoulay welcomed Baloch’s appointment, highlighting Pakistan’s continuous commitment to UNESCO and her important contributions to the organization’s initiatives.
Baloch, an experienced career diplomat with 30 years of experience, has held key diplomatic positions in Washington, Beijing and Geneva.
He has also served as Pakistan ambassador to the Republic of Korea and as a spokesman for the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
