The digital cameras of aiming and firing that they returned not on my 2024 bingo card, after all, smartphones practically killed that market many years ago. However, several models became viral last year, none more than the canon Powershot G7 X Mark III of 2019, so it seems that there is still life in the pocket pargo.
I am in favor, but as I previously wrote about aiming and shooting by 2025, there are no leading brands that are really making new models, so those who seek to buy stay to choose between several years models, increasingly second -hand. That’s fine: the quality of popular and well reviewed cameras years is still expected today. But, let’s be honest, the new technology would also be very welcome.
Now it seems that Canon will be the first of the big names to take a step forward and make new points of pointing with significant updates after Canonrumors published a couple of stories with a little information about what he says is a new New and next Powershot V1. It is inclined to announce at some point between March and May this year, with quite exciting specifications and an estimated price of $ 600-800 (around £ 650-850).
What is expected to happen simultaneously is the interruption of the popular G7 X Mark III, and if that is the case, the canon must be with a new and improved compact from Powershot, why do more discard a winning horse? This is what is said and why revision to compact cameras makes sense.
A new dawn for Powershot?
It seems that Canon will begin again with its Powershot compact, abandoning the Nomenclature of the G series to make PowerShot-series models. He already launched the Powershot V10 Vlogging camera in May 2023 and showed two Powershot concepts: a 360 degree camera and a 180 -degree camera with VR capabilities. However, a new Powershot V1 will be a point and shoot adequate for photographers, and hoped that it would obtain the greatest interest of all, especially if the rumors of their specifications and prices are to be in money.

Nor is there an adequate word about the design of V1, but the models suggest a camera that resembles G7 X III.
Much of those key specifications with certain existing cameras of the G Powershot series. So, will this feel like a Rehash, as Panasonic did with the recent Lumix ZS99 / Tz99? I hope that no and that Canon also place recently developed features of its mirror -free cameras in the V1, such as its latest automatic approach system.
However, the most exciting thing about everything is the possibility of Canon setting a new compact camera that is easily available to buy at a very reasonable price. There are simply many high quality options available today for the $ 600-800 brand. Sprinkle some new features, and I hope that the Powershot V1 is one of the most popular cameras of 2025.
